    Four Shelf jackups get Middle East contract extensions

    Shelf Drilling has gained long-term contract extensions for four of its jackups working offshore the Arabian Peninsula.

    DUBAI, UAE – Shelf Drilling has gained long-term contract extensions for four of its jackups working offshore the Arabian Peninsula.

    The High Island II, High Island IV and Main Pass I will each be employed for a further 10 years while the Main Pass IV has a five-year extension.

    In all cases, day rates are said to be consistent with current prices for these rigs and allow for annual rate adjustments based on the prior 12-month average Brent crude oil price. The extensions are expected to start in 1Q 2020.
