VeEX Inc. has unveiled the RTU-600 100-Gbps test module for the RTU-300 standalone platform. The module enables a full-featured centralized test approach for business services, core/metro Ethernet, mobile backhaul, storage area networks, optical transport networks, SDH/SONET links, and service testing at 40 and 100 Gbps, according to the company.
The RTU-600 also supports QSFP28 and QSFP+ interfaces for 100 Gigabit Ethernet/OTU4 and 40 Gigabit Etherent/OTU3 applications.
The RTU-300 platform is a rack-mounted centralized test system designed for service turnup and maintenance test applications. The deployment of RTU-300s within the service provider network reduces capital expenditures by purchasing fewer field test units for the same service turnup application, says VeEX. Equipped with the companion RTU-320 test module option, the RTU-300 platform now provides a complete 64-kbps to 100-Gbps test capabilities in a compact 1RU 19-inch rack package.
“An increasing need from service providers to test IP access services from 1 to 100 Gbps has increased demand for remote test units that can be easily accessed from anywhere in the network,” says Ricardo Torres, director of product marketing at VeEX. “Service provider requirements to test Layer 2 and Layer 3 services with test methodologies, like ITU-T’s Y.1564, are also on the rise and supported by the RTU-300/600, making it a full-featured platform for all Layer 2 to Layer 4 testing.”
