Coronavirus impact on dental practices: Preparing to reopen? Practical tips from a practice management expert (Video)

May 11, 2020
Genevieve Poppe, founder of Poppe Practice Management, specializes in communication. As dentists reopen, there is a lot of necessary communication that they’ll need to prepare for, with both staff members and patients.

Dr. Pamela Maragliano-Muniz discusses the current situation with Genevieve Poppe, founder of Poppe Practice Management. Dr. Pam says she has talked with her peers, who have anywhere from staff members who have quit because they want no part of returning to work in the current environment, to those whose staff members are anxious to return to the office. She asks Poppe how dentists should communicate with staff, whichever category they fall into.

Another top item for dentists at the moment is patient communication. Poppe says it’s important to prepare your staff with answers to some of the most common questions that patients will have in these post-COVID days and weeks to come. But this should not be a canned and one-sided conversation that the dental team has with patients. One-on-one communication will be more important than ever as patients are concerned about getting back out into the world, and they want to be sure they’re safe with you.

Listen to their conversation to learn some truly applicable advice from Poppe, who’s interacting with dental teams firsthand as they begin to reopen their practices.
