These cars slowed down slightly for many of Portland International Raceway’s 12 turns, but in straightaways could hit speeds beyond 150 miles per hour on special Hankook tires propelled by 300-kW batteries within the Formula E’s new standard Gen3 bodies
The project could generate 18 GWh of clean electricity annually and will contribute to the existing solar canopy installations covering 33 acres of the Livingston Campus. The solar carport canopies will be installed at no upfront cost to the university
Once completed, the solar project will fully power the Murray H. Goodman Campus. It is expected to meet 100 percent of the campus’s electricity demands while offsetting eight percent of the university’s overall grid electricity consumption
The project is expected to commence commercial operation in the third quarter of 2023. According to Greenbacker, the 120-MWh capacity of the project is sufficient to power approximately 4,119 homes for a 24-hour period
